"Obedience to God is determined, not by words, but by deeds"
Recently, one of my friends made a comment that stuck me. She said that she was tired of people who spoke about God seasonally but their actions did not 'match up.'
Hearing this, I began to reflect on my own life. Am I one of those persons that speak about God seasonally, when such a topic of conversation suits the social situation? Or do I speak about God in season or out of season? Is God seasonal? or is He forever?
My friend said He was forever.....and I had to agree. You see, for those who are indifferent to the teachings of Christ, speaking about Him at times and in places suited to them is perfect. But to others who follow the teachings, such 'sometimish' behaviour is a bit more difficult to achieve.
With that said, Note that my intention is not to judge others, but to look deeper at myself and in doing so share what my reflections, with whomever chooses to pay attention.
The end result of my introspection? I can be more constant in my speaking about God, and not be ashamed to proclaim Him. Perhaps doing that will enhance my Obedience to Him.
Then i read: How can best proclaim our love for the Lord? By obeying Him!
Prayer: Jesus, help me to better obey You. And in times when I have failed to follow your voice and apply Your teachings in my life, do not forsake me, but know that I am trying my best, in my human capacity to follow you as Your disciple everyday of my life. Thank you Lord. Amen!
